LED red light panels, from the face to the whole body
Helsi™ red light panels pair 660 nm red light and 850 nm near-infrared on flicker-free LEDs. Five sizes, from the Helsi™ Go that fits a bag to the 180 × 60 cm Helsi™ Max.
An LED red light panel gives off light in a few set wavelengths, instead of heating a bulb behind red glass like the classic red lamp. Helsi™ panels carry red LEDs at 660 nm and near-infrared LEDs at 850 nm in equal parts. They barely get warm, do not flicker and, depending on the size, cover one spot or the whole body. The irradiance of every model is measured and published in the user manual.
Typical figures for each build type, November 2026. The classic red lamp is mainly a heat lamp. If heat is what you want, it serves you well; if you want light in set wavelengths, an LED panel does.
Buying guide
Buying a red light panel: what to look for
Five points that tell a good LED panel from a weak one. Johannes Jess, Helsi™ co-founder, walks through them in the film (in German, with English subtitles).
Not all red light is equal: what to look for when buyingJohannes Jess, Helsi™ co-founder, in German with English subtitles
1
The two wavelengths
Red light in the 600 to 660 nm range and near-infrared in the 800 to 860 nm range, and only those. Helsi™ panels use 660 nm and 850 nm, half of the LEDs each.
2
Enough irradiance
Measured in mW/cm² at the usual 20 to 30 cm, with at least 100 mW/cm² as a rule of thumb. Serious makers state it by distance. Helsi™ measures between 163 (Mini) and 180 mW/cm² (Plus) at 30 cm. Very thin devices without fans often point to little output.
3
Flicker-free LEDs
Many LEDs switch on and off several times a second on mains power. The eye can’t see it, a phone camera in slow motion can. Every Helsi™ panel has flicker-free LEDs.
4
Low EMF
Ask for the measured electromagnetic fields. On Helsi™ panels the magnetic field drops to almost zero within 5 to 10 cm, and you use them at 15 to 30 cm.
5
Build and service
A solid metal housing, good fans, a warranty longer than the legal two years and a company you can reach. Helsi™ gives a 3-year warranty and answers from Germany.

Which size fits?
15 × 10 cm, 12 LEDs, 0.85 kg. A battery for about 2 hours, USB charging, a built-in fold-out stand and its own travel set. For the face and single spots, on the go too. The Go is used close to the skin: 80 mW/cm² at 5 cm.
27 × 23 cm, 60 LEDs behind 30° glass lenses, up to 71 × 61 cm of coverage. Stands on a fold-out stand or hangs on a wall or door. For the face, neck and shoulders. Our best-selling model.
91 × 30 cm, 300 LEDs, up to 119.5 × 61 cm of coverage, about the upper or lower body. Red and near-infrared dimmed separately, pulse 0 to 20 Hz, app control, 500 W.
180 × 30 cm, 600 LEDs, up to 221 × 61 cm of coverage. The slim full-body panel for a wall or a stand, 992 W, eight fans.
180 × 60 cm, 1,200 LEDs, up to 221 × 120 cm of coverage. Twice as wide as the Pro, for the whole body from the front and side, and lying down on the horizontal stand. 2,000 W, fourteen fans.
15 to 30 cm from the panel. The closer you are, the smaller the area the light covers. The Helsi™ Go is used close to the skin.
02
Bare skin
Keep the skin in the light free of clothing and make-up.
03
Protect your eyes
Don’t look straight into the light. Wear the included goggles or close your eyes.
04
Build up slowly
Start with 2 to 3 minutes per body area and build up to about 10 minutes over 2 to 3 weeks. 15 minutes per session at most, 4 to 10 sessions a week.
Figures from the Helsi™ user manual. If your skin is sensitive to light, you are pregnant or you take medication that makes you more sensitive to light, ask a doctor first.

Irradiance: manufacturer measurement from the user manual. Every model has 660 nm red and 850 nm near-infrared, flicker-free LEDs and a 3-year warranty.
Two devices are sold under the name. The classic red lamp is a bulb behind red glass that mainly gives off infrared heat. An LED panel like the Helsi™ panels gives off light in set wavelengths, red at 660 nm and near-infrared at 850 nm, and barely gets warm.
The classic lamp heats a bulb of usually 100 to 300 W. It gets hot, so it needs a safe distance, and its light spreads over a broad infrared spectrum. An LED panel concentrates its light on two wavelengths, barely gets warm and, depending on its size, can cover the whole body. Classic lamps usually cost 30 to 50 €, LED panels a good deal more.
Near-infrared is light just beyond visible red, 850 nm on Helsi™ panels. The eye barely sees it, so the near-infrared LEDs look darker than the red ones when the panel is on. Red light at 660 nm is visible.
Red light in the 600 to 660 nm range and near-infrared in the 800 to 860 nm range. All five Helsi™ panels use 660 nm and 850 nm, half of the LEDs each.
Irradiance is how much light power reaches one square centimetre of skin, measured in mW/cm². It depends on the distance. At least 100 mW/cm² at 20 to 30 cm is the usual rule of thumb. At 30 cm Helsi™ panels measure 163 (Mini), 180 (Plus), 178 (Pro) and 170 mW/cm² (Max).
For the face, neck and shoulders the Helsi™ Mini with 60 LEDs, on the go the battery-powered Helsi™ Go. To wear the light on your face, take the Helsi™ LED Mask.
The Helsi™ Pro (180 × 30 cm, 600 LEDs) or the Helsi™ Max, twice as wide (180 × 60 cm, 1,200 LEDs). The Helsi™ Plus covers about the upper or lower body.
The Helsi™ Go: 15 × 10 cm, 0.85 kg, a battery for about 2 hours, USB charging and its own travel set. It has no fans and is used close to the skin.
Per the user manual, 15 minutes per session at most and 4 to 10 sessions a week with at least one day off. Start with 2 to 3 minutes per body area and build up to about 10 minutes over 2 to 3 weeks.
15 to 30 cm. More distance mostly means more area: the Helsi™ Pro covers about 185 × 30 cm at 30 cm and about 201 × 51 cm at 61 cm. The Helsi™ Go is used close to the skin: it measures 80 mW/cm² at 5 cm.
Barely. You feel a slight warmth, but you can put your hand on the device. The Helsi™ Plus, Pro and Max have four, eight and fourteen fans.
The Helsi™ Go draws 10 W, the Plus 500 W, the Pro 992 W and the Max 2,000 W. All run on a normal socket.
On the Helsi™ Mini, Plus and Max, red and near-infrared dim separately from 0 to 100 %. The Plus also has a pulse rate of 0 to 20 Hz and an app.
Don’t look straight into the light. Goggles come with every Helsi™ panel; you can also close your eyes.
The Helsi™ Go and Mini have a built-in fold-out stand. You hang the Mini, Plus, Pro and Max on a wall or door with the mounting set that comes with them, or put them on a floor, vertical or horizontal stand.
The Helsi™ Mini and Plus share the same mounting system and hook into each other, on a door or a wardrobe for example.
No. Many LEDs switch on and off several times a second on mains power; every Helsi™ panel has flicker-free LEDs.
Negligible. In our measurements the magnetic field of Helsi™ panels drops to almost zero within 5 to 10 cm, and you use them at 15 to 30 cm.
3-year warranty on all five models. You can return red light panels within 30 working days of delivery. Delivery is free, and smaller panels usually arrive in 3 to 5 working days.
The Helsi™ showroom shows the panels at real size in four furnished rooms. For questions about sizes, our team answers Monday to Friday.
