What is red light therapy?
Red light therapy involves exposure to weak red or near-infrared light that penetrates the skin and is absorbed by the mitochondria – the powerhouse of our cells.
This light stimulates the mitochondria to produce more energy in our cells, helping them work more efficiently and providing a number of health benefits.
As a result, red light therapy promotes tissue repair, reduces inflammation, and potentially provides benefits for skin health, muscle recovery, and overall well-being.
When red light wavelengths safely penetrate the skin, they awaken our cellular power plants. This triggers a series of positive physiological effects.
How does red light therapy work?
Red light therapy converts light energy into electrochemical energy, increasing adenosine triphosphate (ATP) in cells. This energy boost increases cellular activity and leads to accelerated tissue repair and regeneration.
Red light with a wavelength of 660 nm is easily absorbed by surface tissues and cells, resulting in improved skin health and healing.
Invisible to the human eye, near-infrared (NIR) light is emitted at 850 nm and penetrates deeper tissues, resulting in improved recovery and inflammation support.

FAQ
Is red light therapy safe?
Helsi red light products use only effective and safe wavelengths of red and near infrared light. However, it is recommended that you consult a qualified healthcare professional before using a Helsi red light product if you have any questions or concerns.
Do I need to wear protective goggles when using a Helsi™ red light product?
The eye protection provided with the Helsi™ red light product must be worn when looking at the light, especially when near infrared light is active. When using a Helsi™ red light product, do not look directly at the light emitting diodes (LEDs). If you suffer from eye sensitivity or vision problems, we recommend consulting a qualified physician before using a Helsi red light product.
How do I know if the near infrared LEDs are not working?
Near infrared light is outside the visible spectrum and is invisible to the naked eye. You may only see a pink dot or subtle pink glow emanating from the LEDs when the near infrared lights are on. We can assure you that a significant amount of light energy is emitted and that your device will work exactly as intended.
What are the benefits of red light therapy?
The benefits of red light therapy are enormous. By increasing cellular energy, the body can repair the skin, promote new cell growth, and improve skin rejuvenation. This leads to a number of health benefits including collagen production, wound healing, reduced pain and inflammation, and relief from psoriasis and acne symptoms.
What is PULSE mode for?
PULSE mode refers to a specific operating setting that modulates light emission. Unlike the continuous light emission in standard mode, PULSE mode includes intermittent bursts or pulses. This pulsating effect can enhance the therapeutic benefits of the treatment.
What if my skin is sunburned or damaged?
Helsi™ red light therapy emits a certain amount of heat and may be problematic on sunburnt, burned or damaged skin. We recommend consulting a qualified healthcare professional with any specific questions prior to use.
What happens if I have a pre-existing medical condition or am taking medication?
Our red light products are classified as a general health tool. We recommend that you consult a qualified healthcare professional if you have any pre-existing health conditions or are taking any medications that could cause a photosensitivity reaction.
Can children use Helsi Red Light products?
Children should only use Helsi™ Red Light products under adult supervision and with the prior consent of a qualified healthcare professional.
